Part 1: Why in childhood?
Kids like stories and want to hear interesting ones because they are fun and funny to them. They can learn many things from a story that can help with their reading, listening skills and making good choices. What kids get out of the experience is a story they can share with other people and that helps their communication skills. Listening to stories let the kids feel like they are in a imaginative world where anything could happen.

Part 2: Why later in life?
Older people from high school and beyond read for facts, opinions, to write a paper and to just enjoy reading a book that’s fiction or non-fiction. The experience they can get will help them know more things or to pass a class. Older people read to learn more things or just to have something to read that’s very interesting in any way.

Part 3: Why in our nation?
Stories are important to our nation because ever since humans stepped foot on earth they told stories that are heard today about the past. Knowing about what happen before your time is something a lot of our nation’s people want to know. We read a lot of stories from different writers to see what they have to say about famous people or what happens in everyday life like the news paper.

Part 4: Your stories
I remember stories about my family members, friends and made up ones. Green eggs and ham is one of my favorite children books that were read to me many of times. I loved the Dr. Seuss series and still do. He is a really good children writer that writes books that kids go crazy for.

Part 5: Characteristics of a well-told story
Stories should have well written plots, drama, many of emotions, good/bad characters, mysteries, one main character (or a couple), and well thought out twists.

Spring break is in two weeks, and i know its going to be fun. I'm going to the Cayman Islands with my family, and friends. We are staying in a rented house for six days. We had nine people in are group, it was crazy. We did awhole bunch of things such as scuba diving, snorkeling, learn to surf alittle, drove around the Island and its only seven miles long. We also went to a turtle farm that took care of 100's of baby turtles and release them when they are an adult. We saw many different animals in the ocean such as a crab, a turtle, abunch of colorful fish, sting rays, seals, and we saw some sharks in an aquiemum. There is a wall that surrounds the island but its 20 miles away that goes all the way around. On the other side its a huge drops that goes to the darks of the ocean. There are'nt sharks near the island because the wall keeps them out. The sun was really hot and 4 out 9 people got sunburned and gladly I wasnt one of them. It took us two flights to get to the island, because it was far away, below Cuba. We had to fly to Denver first and waited an hour to take off on the second flight. It took about 4 hours, but it was worth it. We had to go threw custums that took another hour just to get out of the airport. We went to every beach on the island and liked everyone. The most crowd was seven mile beach, but I can see why its always packed if its 7 miles long. Are resort had a private beach that was amazing.the end

Poem

Messy Room

by Shel Silverstein

Whosever room this is should be ashamed!
His underwear is hanging on the lamp.
His raincoat is there in the overstuffed chair,
And the chair is becoming quite mucky and damp.
His workbook is wedged in the window,
His sweater's been thrown on the floor.
His scarf and one ski are beneath the TV,
And his pants have been carelessly hung on the door.
His books are all jammed in the closet,
His vest has been left in the hall.
A lizard named Ed is asleep in his bed,
And his smelly old sock has been stuck to the wall.
Whosever room this is should be ashamed!
Donald or Robert or Willie or--
Huh? You say it's mine? Oh, dear,
I knew it looked familiar!

I picked the poem Messy Room becuase it reminded me of my brother david and how messy his room used to be. Its interesting how it goes in deep detail about the messy room. The title is Messy Room and the poem is about a messy room so it explains its self. The writer used imagery in the poem by saying "Whosever room this is should be ashamed" at the beggining and end of his poem. The writer also forces on the detail of the messy room explaining every last thing in the room. The writers tone at the start was disgusted and at the end of the poem his tone was guilty. The writers tone was disgusted and he explained that by saying in detail what was disgusting in the room.
